Our specialty is furnishing for sale or rent steel lap type flange forms. These forms are most commonly used in one-way pan joist systems. Made from 14 gauge steel these pans are manufactured for repeated use and are reinforced for strength. Steel lap pans are a cost effective method for large areas creating structural beam and slab framing. Reusable steel lap pans eliminate the need for conventional wood framing of beamsides and soffits.
We maintain over 1,000,000 square feet of industry standard sizes ensuring we will be able to supply any size project. We are also capable of manufacturing custom lap pans for projects requiring non-standard sizes.
Key Advantages:
Heavy-duty 14-gauge steel construction
Reinforced with angles or flat bars for added strength
Designed for precision and dimensional accuracy
Available in multiple types, sizes, and configurations
Offered for rent or sale to fit project requirements
Depths are 24”, 20”, 16”, 14”, 12”, 10” and 8”. (10” and 8” deep pans are available in limited widths. Please contact us for availability.)
Widths are 66”, 53”, 40”, 30”, 20”, 15”, and 10”.
Lengths are 4’-0”, 3’-0”, 2’-0” and 1’-0”.
14 gauge hot rolled steel used to manufacture steel forms and end caps.
1”x1”x1/4” angle or ¼” x 1 ½” flat bar welded to steel pans for additional reinforcement. 4’-0” pans receive 5 bars, 3’-0” pans receive 4 bars, 2’-0” pans receive 3 bars and 1’-0” pans receive 1 bar.
End caps receive 2”x 2” angle welded inside to assist with stripping.
Diaphragms are fabricated from 1”x1”x1/8” angle.
Pans are fabricated with a 90 degree bend at the bottom allowing for a 1” flange with 3/16” mounting holes.
Sides of lap pans are fabricated with a 1:12 draft on each side and a 1 ½” radius at the top for easy stripping.
End caps are fabricated with 2” flanges that are turned under the pan for added strength and easier stripping.
Nail end caps to deck at established lines.
Nail diaphragms to deck at 2’-0” on center.
Install pans as shown on drawings and nail pans to deck using each nail hole. If nail holes are not available, drill 3/16” hole through flanges.
Where necessary, pop rivets, nails or sheet metal screws may be used to tighten up lap joints.
Tape may also be applied at joints to help prevent concrete seepage.
Properly spray pans with a reactive form release agent according to manufactures recommendations.
Diaphragms will come out with the deck and should be removed.
Provide proper tables where necessary to allow for safe removal of pans and end caps and prevent damage to pans.
Remove end caps first using a pry bar and the 2” x 2” angle welded to the end cap.
Carefully loosen sides of pans from concrete and pull the forms down.
Remove remaining concrete and spray with a form release agent.
